FRDM HALL #1

.

There are virtually no places/clubs/bars/spaces in Washtenaw County at which people of color feel welcomed and encouraged to perform. Flower*Child and Ashanti Africana are part of a group of artist-activists of color who’ve been hosting a portable event called Pass the Vibes, which seeks to redress this lack of collective gathering and performance space. Now, Keep Ypsi Black is adding its support to this burgeoning movement by launching FRDM HALL. Join us this Friday evening for an Open Mic at which all people of color are invited to perform, followed by a screening of Spike Lee’s 1989 film Do the Right Thing.
